Porsche Cars North America is adding a six-speed manual option back to the 911 Carrera S. The new MT Package is exclusive to North America, works with rear-wheel drive, and will be offered on both the coupe and Cabriolet. The announcement reverses the Carrera S model's initial 992.2-generation launch with only the eight-speed PDK transmission.
More than a gearbox swap
- The 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six is rated at 473 horsepower.
- Rear-axle steering, PASM Sport suspension, Sport Chrono and unique exhaust tuning are standard.
- Standard center-lock wheels save more than 17 pounds compared with the regular Carrera S wheels.
- The Carrera S coupe with the MT Package has a stated curb weight of 3,327 pounds.
The package is positioned as a more analog Carrera S rather than the quickest possible configuration. Orders opened with the announcement, and Porsche says North American deliveries are expected by the end of 2026. For buyers, the important distinction is that the manual is a defined factory package with its own chassis and equipment specification—not a no-cost transmission substitution.
