Mercedes-Benz has presented what it calls the most comprehensive technical update in the C-Class's history. The revised sedan and estate arrive alongside the electric C-Class rather than replacing the existing powertrain range, giving buyers petrol, diesel and plug-in-hybrid choices prepared for coming European emissions requirements.
The numbers that matter
- Petrol outputs range from 177 hp in the C 200 to 258 hp in the C 300 before considering the integrated starter-generator contribution.
- The C 400 e plug-in hybrid is rated at up to 395 hp and 650 Nm, with as much as 100 km of WLTP electric range.
- Available rear-axle steering can reduce the turning circle by 43 cm to 10.64 m.
- The assistance sensor set can include 10 cameras, five radar units and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
MB.OS now coordinates the car's software domains and over-the-air updates, while the latest MBUX assistant combines multiple AI services for conversation and navigation. The practical caveat is market and configuration dependence: lighting, assistance and digital features will not be identical everywhere. European ordering began on August 18, so exact local equipment remains the specification to check—not the global feature list by itself.
