Drain service materials
Honda’s complete change procedure drains the radiator and the right-side engine block drain. Set the heater to maximum heat before switching off; wait until engine and radiator are cool to the touch before opening the cap. Reinstall the block drain with a new washer and Honda liquid gasket 08718-0009 on its threads, at 83 N·m. The coolant purchase below does not include that washer or sealant; their verified purchase links are still pending.
Fill and bleed
Use Honda Type 2 premixed 50/50 without adding water. Drain and refill the reserve tank to MAX. Open the heater-bypass bleed cap and loosen the intake-manifold bleed bolt; fill the radiator to the filler neck. Close each bleed point when coolant flows steadily without bubbles; the bleed bolt is 9.8 N·m. Follow the service manual’s warm-up, two fan cycles, final level and leak checks before resetting Minder 5. Keep clear of hot coolant and moving fans.
