- Coolant specification
- Toyota Genuine FC Stack Coolant VerifiedFuel-cell stack circuit only; the inverter uses a different product.
- Fuel-cell air filter
- Inspect at 10,000 miles/12 months and replace at 30,000 miles/36 months. With primarily dirt/dust use, inspect at the 5,000-mile/6-month visits and replace at 15,000 miles/18 months. Replace earlier if the inspection finds damage, excessive wear or oil contamination.
- Battery cooling intake filter
- Inspect every 5,000 miles/6 months and clean as needed; scheduled cleaning is every 20,000 miles/24 months. Use the owner manual cleaning procedure.
- Ion-exchanger element and breather tip
- A qualified technician replaces the ion-exchanger element every 30,000 miles/36 months, and the breather-pipe tip (Gore film) every 60,000 miles/72 months. Confirm the exact element, seals and hardware before purchase.
- Fuel-cell stack coolant
- Use only Toyota Genuine FC Stack Coolant. A qualified technician checks level and the fuel-cell cooling circuit for leaks at the scheduled visits. Routine coolant changes are unnecessary; do not substitute water, use ordinary coolant or reuse drained stack coolant. Consult Toyota for replenishment.
- Inverter coolant is a separate circuit
- The inverter uses Genuine Toyota Super Long-Life Coolant. Inspect its level/condition and hoses at the scheduled visits. A qualified technician replaces it first at 150,000 miles, then every 50,000 miles; this interval and product do not apply to the fuel-cell stack. Service-fill quantity remains to be verified.
- Hydrogen inspections and tank life
- Have a qualified technician inspect sensors, supply system, tanks/valves and tank bands every 10,000 miles/12 months. The additional supply/tank/band checks at 5,000-mile/6-month visits apply to primarily extensive idling/low-speed driving or rough, muddy or snow-melt roads. Replace tanks with valves every 15 years (180 months).
