- Clean the reservoir exterior. Remove and wipe the dipstick, reinstall the cap, then remove it again to read. Use COLD at 10-30 C after about five hours without running, or HOT at 60-80 C. Add DEXRON II/III only to the correct range; do not overfill. Check the steering box, pump and hose connections for leaks or damage.
